The World Cup may be in full swing but that hasn't stopped Manchester City from making a massive move as they secured Pep Guardiola's future. The Blues boss has penned a two-year extension which will keep him at the Etihad until 2025.
“I am so pleased to be staying at Manchester City for another two years,” he said. “I can’t say thank you enough to everyone at the club for trusting me. I am happy and comfortable here. I have everything I need to do my job as best as possible.

“I know the next chapter of this club will be amazing for the next decade. It happened over the last ten years, and it will happen in the next ten years because this club is so stable.
“From day one I felt something special being here. I cannot be in a better place.
“I still have the feeling there is more we can achieve together and that is why I want to stay and continue fighting for trophies.”
Host Dan Murphy and senior writer Tyrone Marshall discuss what a massive boost securing Guardiola's future will be for City on the pitch and off it in the transfer market. There are also questions as to whether there are any potential downsides to a potential nine-year reign.
Then the conversation moves on to the mixed start to the World Cup with England's great start and some early shocks coming alongside several dull and goalless games. The pair will look at how City's stars are getting on in Qatar with plenty of players in action, though some have faired better than other so far.
