Talented dog who can do 'gymnastics' and bend his body in half goes viral

Every dog is special and unique in their own way, but some pups have incredible talents that need showing off - and Rory the 18-month-old golden retriever is one of them. He began showcasing his party trick at 16 weeks old and has been doing it everywhere and anywhere ever since.

The flexible pooch is able to bend his body in half and has found fame online for his impressive 'gymnastics'. Owner Jodie Chadwick, 23, from West Yorkshire, couldn't be prouder of her beloved pup and loves sharing his unusual skills with the world on TikTok, where millions of people are amazed by Rory's trick.

"When he was around 16 weeks old, he would slide off the sofa headfirst and end up folding himself in half," Jodie told the Mirror.

Rory discovered a love for chasing his own tail, but would often end up in the funniest positions attempting to do so.

"He likes to chase his tail, dive off the sofa headfirst and come and do it next to you on the sofa," Jodie explained.

She is all too familiar with Rory having his bottom in the air and his face on the floor.

But when Rory isn't practising gymnastics, he enjoys playing tug of war with his favourite toy.

"He is crazy and hilarious. He absolutely loves everyone and everything," Jodie said.

"He's very happy go lucky with tons of energy. Always on the go and looking for friends. Always making people laugh and making their day."

Rory's lovable personality has racked up more than 126,000 followers on TikTok @goldenboyrory, and his most popular videos have been viewed over two millions times.

Followers are amazed by his flexibility and often question how he gets himself into the positions.

TikTok users joke the golden retriever is broken (TikTok/goldenboyrory)

"What. How. I didn't know dogs were so acrobatic," one viewer commented, while a second joked: "Try turning him off and on again."

"Floof is definitely malfunctioning and needs to be rebooted," a third comically wrote.

Though lots of fellow golden retriever owners agreed this happens a lot at home - so maybe Rory isn't the only goldie that can do gymnastics.

Another four-legged TikTok star who knows a thing or two about stretching is Magnus the Therapy Dog.

The talented Labrador has more than two million followers and can perform six yoga poses - including the perfect downward dog pose.
