With fixture release day upon us, Leeds United’s return to league action feels closer than ever. The Whites learned this morning that they’ll be opening up their campaign in a televised game against Cardiff City at Elland Road on August 6.
For some, that date can’t come soon enough. That first kick-off should represent the new start Leeds fans are craving after the turmoil that plagued the club throughout the final season in the Premier League.
All being well, the club that competes in front of the cameras on opening weekend will be a new look one – new players, new manager, new ownership. But it also means a lot has to happen between now and then before Leeds are ready for action.
