Takeaways, highlights from first half of Eagles’ Week 4 matchup vs. Commanders

In a scene reminiscent of last season in Week 10, the Eagles have been held to less than 150 yards of total offense and trail the Commanders, 17-10 at the half.

Washington attempted to dominate time of possession while eliminating any explosive plays from the Philadelphia offense.

The Eagles All-Pro cornerback started the contest off in the slot.

Terry McLaurin off to fast start

The veteran wide receiver has tormented the Eagles during his career and he’s already on the board with two catches for 20+ yards.

McLaurin had 4 catches for 58 yards in the first half.

Eagles dismal first drive

Washington got on the board first with a1 4 play, 75 yard drive that ended with a Curtis Samuel touchdown and ate up 7:08 minutes of the first quarter.

Linebacker Zach Cunningham helped extend the drive for Washington with a holding penalty on 3d and 11.

Brown complained after game official made him remove his neon green cleats in Week 3 midway through the first quarter.

Brown stated that he’d like the rule changed, confirming that he wears the bright colors so his daughter can identify him.

Eagles respond to Commanders

In what could have been the best drive of the season, Philadelphia answered Washington with a 12-play, 75 yard drive, that took 6:35 off clock.

D’Andre Swift had 4 carries, for 16 yards, and a rushing touchdown, while Jalen Hurts was 7-of-7 passing, for 49 yards, and a 95.8 rating on drive.
