Takeaways and observations from Eagles 37-34 win over Bills in Week 12

The Eagles overcame a 17-7 first-half deficit for the second straight game, using a 59-yard field goal from Jake Elliott to take the Bills to overtime.

Elliott tied the game with 20 seconds remaining. After the Bills went ahead with a field goal on the first possession of overtime, Hurts put the game away with a walk-off 12-yard score that made the Eagles the only 10-1 team in the NFL.

Hurts threw for three touchdowns and ran for two more, outplaying Buffalo’s Josh Allen late in the first of what could be many high-profile matchups in their careers.

With a Week 13 showdown against San Francisco looming, here’s an instant analysis of Sunday’s comeback win.

Sean Desai’s group was missing a few key players and got absolutely shredded in the rain, as Josh Allen and Bills’ offense accounted for 505 yards while converting 59% on 3rd down(13-22) and scored 4 TDs in 5 red zone trips(80%).

Buffalo ran 27 more plays than the Eagles and finished with a 40:00 to 27:00 advantage in time of possession.

Hurts has 11 career games with at least two rushing touchdowns and moved past Cam Newton (10 games) for the most such games by a quarterback in NFL history.

Hurts had ten rushing touchdowns in 2021, 13 rushing touchdowns in 2022, and 11 rushing touchdowns this season and is the first quarterback ever with at least ten rushing touchdowns in three consecutive seasons, joining Cam Newton (2011, 2015, and 2020) as the only quarterbacks in NFL history with at least ten rushing touchdowns in three career seasons.
