Gardai have launched an appeal for witnesses after a takeaway delivery driver was set upon by a gang of teens and had his motorbike hijacked in Tallaght.
The terrifying incident happened on New Year's Day and the man who is in his 20s was also assaulted by the group and had to receive medical treatment. He was on the Cheeverstown Road at around 3.10pm when the gang targeted him.
The thugs, who were on scramblers, forced him off the bike before one of them stole his bike and drove away. It was later found abandoned on the N81 Tallaght bypass.

A garda spokeswoman said: "Investigating Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward. They are particularly appealing to those with video footage (including dash cam) from Cheeverstown Road or surrounding areas at the time to make contact them. Anyone with information is asked to contact Tallaght on 01 666 6000, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station."
