Gary Barlow has treated his beloved fans to an early Christmas gift by confirming that Take That have started writing their first album in five years.
The legendary pop star, 51, has been busy making music and writing lyrics in the studio with his fellow bandmates Mark Owen and Howard Donald, after the trio took a hiatus following the release of their last album back in 2017.
Gary, Mark, and Howard - who became a three-man band when Robbie Williams and Jason Orange decided to call it a day on Take That, have hinted that their latest album will be their best yet as front-man Gary confirmed the thrilling news this week.
"We have started a little bit of writing, but we’re not due to officially start until the New Year," Gary told his fans.
"Hopefully there will be an album out next year, but we’ve got to write some hits," he told Zoe Ball on her BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show.
Take That's album news comes after it was announced that the iconic 90's boyband will be headlining the British Summer Time festival in Hyde Park next summer.
Lifting the lid on their momentous summer ahead, the trio told Zoe Ball: "We’re very excited.
"We worked it out, it’s been seven or eight years since we’ve been their last, and it was awesome last time.
"So when we were offered it, we were like yes, let’s do it."
The band also revealed that Greatest Days, which is the movie version of stage musical The Band, will be out in May next year.
The musical features music and lyrics by Take That, and stars Irish comedian and actress Aisling Bea as well as comedian and Strictly Come Dancing star, Jayde Adams alongside Alice Lowe and Matthew McNulty.
