NEW DELHI: India enjoyed a successful outing with ace shot putter Tajinderpal Singh Toor and hurdler Jyothi Yarraji setting new national records, while long-distance sensation Harmilan Bains claimed a gold medal on the track on the opening day of the Asian Indoor Athletics Championships in Tehran.
Toor, a two-time Asian Games gold medallist, set a new national indoor record in shot put by hurling the shot to a distance of 19.72 meters in his second attempt.
