Agra: Taj Mahal, one of the seven wonders of the world, is known all over the world for its unparalleled beauty and unbounded love.
All the year round innumerable tourists, especially married couples, visit Taj Mahal to pay their homage to the immortal love of Mughal Emperor Shahjahan and his beloved wife Arjumand Banu Begum popularly known as Mumtaz Mahal.
But, the tight security around Taj Mahal has proved bane for the residents of five villages nearby Taj Mahal. The villages are Garhi Bangus, Nagla Paima, Talfi Nagla, Ahmed Bukhari and Nagla Dhing.
As the approach road to these villages pass through the premises of Taj Mahal, visitors to these villages have to obtain 'entry passes' from the administration which is a cumbersome process. As a result, about 40 per cent of marriageable youths are still bachelor because many optimistic bride family members do not want to face this 'entry pass’ hassles.
In 1992 the Supreme Court had further beefed up the security of Taj Mahal.
Taj Mahal was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1983.
