If you live outside of Canada and have been hankering for an electric snowmobile, buckle up because today is your lucky day. The 2026 Nomad electric snowmobile is in production, and Taiga has commenced international deliveries. The model will be available throughout North America, Europe, and Asia. For the latest iteration of the model, the Nomad will get a few noticeable upgrades.
The 2026 Nomad will have custom drive modes, which enable riders to save personalized performance profiles directly from the Taiga mobile app, and there's plenty of performance to play around with. The Nomad will have up to 120 HP and a towing capacity of 1,125 lbs, but range is limited to around 62 miles. Thankfully, if you have a level 3 charger, it only takes 40 minutes to fully recharge the Nomad, but just jumps to 3.5 hours with a level 2 charger.
Powering the Nomad is Taiga's next-generation electric powertrain, which features a new integrated Tractive Unit that combines an interior permanent magnet (IPM) motor and inverter. This, along with a redesigned control algorithm, should allow for precise and responsive power delivery, making the personalized performance profiles that bit more interesting.
“The Nomad has always represented the essence of what Taiga stands for — clean, capable adventure in any environment,” said Paul Achard, co-founder and chief engineer at Taiga Motors. “This latest generation not only pushes performance and efficiency further but also gives riders more control, flexibility, and connection to their vehicle than ever before.”
When you consider that the all-electric brand declared bankruptcy in late 2024, this is awesome to see, along with its trick new PWC. It's unknown what the Nomad will retail for in each market, but it starts at $23,699 CAD in Canada. To our international readers: will a Taiga Nomad ever end up in your fleet?
