Stephen Hoiles has been earmarked as the man to succeed Michael Cheika as NSW Waratahs coach after joining fellow former title-winning player Wycliff Palu on his staff.

The former Wallabies have coached in the US and Japan respectively and will act as assistants under the returning Cheika next Super Rugby Pacific season.
