MIAMI: By definition, this is truly the American dream. The US national team, cobbled up with a group of semi-professional cricketers, who have a day job and play cricket as a pastime, made the Super 8 of the T20 World Cup on Friday.

It meant that Pakistan, a former champion and one of the prime contenders in the tournament, got knocked out after USA's group game against Ireland was washed out following numerous delays.
