New Delhi: International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the groups for the 2024 T20 World Cup. The T20 World Cup is scheduled to commence on June 1, co-hosted by the West Indies and the United States (US).
India finds itself placed in Group A, alongside Ireland, Pakistan, Canada, and the host nation, the US. India is going to face Pakistan in New York on June 9.
Group B includes England and Australia alongwith Namibia, Scotland and Oman.
In Group C, New Zealand have been placed with West Indies, Afghanistan, Uganda and Papua New Guinea.
Meanwhile, South Africa have been slotted in at Group D, with Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Netherlands and Nepal.
In the inaugural match, the US will take on Canada on June 1, kicking off the 29-day cricket extravaganza. Meanwhile, the West Indies, the other co-host, will engage Papua New Guinea in Guyana on the second day of group play.
