T.J. Watt, star linebacker for the Pittsburgh Steelers, has officially signed a record-breaking contract extension, making him the highest-paid defensive player in NFL history. The deal, finalised on 17 July 2025, comes just days before the start of Steelers training camp. The agreement aims to keep Watt at the heart of Pittsburgh's defence for the next three seasons, but the full financial impact has only recently come to light.
