A former ABC staffer has claimed she had an affair with T.J. Holmes, before the Good Morning America anchor went on to have an affair with his co-host Amy Robach.
The woman, identified only as Sascha, claims there is a "rampant culture of sex" at ABC and said she was treated like a "throwaway object" by 45-year-old T.J.
The alleged affair is said to have taken place in 2014, when Sascha was working as a digital news associate for the organisation.
She claims T.J. started flirting with her after she helped him to set up his Instagram account. She says he then sent her an email, writing: "I'm learning a lot about you. I might actually like you."
Shortly after, he booked a hotel near to their workplace and sent her the details. When she walked into the room, he was sitting on the bed, she claimed.
Speaking to The Cut, Sascha said they started having sex in hotel rooms and in T.J.'s locked office.
She claimed affairs like theirs were "commonplace", adding that ABC "was a pretty scandalous place".
In response, an ABC spokesperson has told The Mirror: "Creating a safe, respectful, and professional work environment for everyone has been, and continues to be, a top priority at ABC News.
"We do not condone or allow harassment or intimidation of any kind and take these matters very seriously and with immediacy."
The woman said T.J. initially made her feel special before he later dismissed her like a "throwaway object".
Their relationship fizzled out after less than a year, when the anchor-man stopped working overnight shifts in order to focus on his role at GMA.
T.J. has since been involved in an affair scandal with his GMA3 co-host Amy.
The pair have agreed to step away from their roles at ABC after their affair was made public.
"After several productive conversations with Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes about different options, we all agreed it’s best for everyone that they move on from ABC News.
"We recognize their talent and commitment over the years and are thankful for their contributions," an ABC News spokesperson told The Mirror.
The Mirror has approached T.J.'s representatives for comment.
One source close to the pair told People that Amy and T.J. are "in love" and see no issue with putting their growing romance on display.
"They spent the holidays together and are spending all of their time together right now.
"They are fully in a relationship. They are not hiding anything at all because they have no reason to," they said.
Amy was married to actor Andrew Shue for 12 years and T.J. was married to attorney Marilee Fiebig for the same amount of time.
