A woman accused of deliberately running down a man in a Sydney building carpark has pleaded not guilty to murder.

Jackline Sabana Bona Musa is charged with murdering Payman Thagipur, 31, on June 27, 2020.

Mr Thagipur was allegedly hit by a Toyota Kluger and pinned against a brick wall at Wentworth Point.

Police said he and Musa, then 44, were known to each other.

Police alleged they were involved in a verbal altercation before Musa got in the vehicle and deliberately struck him.

In the NSW Supreme Court on Friday, Justice Robert Allan Hulme was told the trial issues would include Musa's intent and whether the partial defence of substantial impairment was available.

After the parties said they had difficulties with proposed dates for a two-week trial, Justice Hulme noted Musa had been in custody since July 2020.

"The parties are going to work together to bring the trial on in the second half of this year," he said.

The matter will return to him on February 18 to set the date.
