Sydney co-captain Dane Rampe insists the Swans are not seeking revenge on Geelong after their last two disastrous outings against the Cats.
The Swans will host the reigning premiers at the SCG on Friday night in the second grand final rematch of the season.
The round-six encounter in Geelong was a demolition job as the Cats unveiled their flag by smashing the Swans in similar fashion to last year's grand final.
In an uncharacteristic performance, the Swans failed to kick a goal after half-time in a 93-point belting - John Longmire's heaviest loss as coach.
"What's been done has been done," Rampe said when asked about the two previous games against Geelong.
"After the weekend, despite probably a rocky start (to this season), we're still in with a chance (of making finals) and just fully focused on this week ahead."
Sydney are coming off a club record 171-point smashing of hapless West Coast, helping the Swans make up 15 per cent to boost their chances of making the top eight.
Coming up against the equally desperate Cats will be the opposite of what they encountered six days ago at the SCG.
"It's been in our players' minds to put round 15 (against West) aside and know the contest and availability of Geelong's team will be fairly different," Longmire said.
"They've got a couple of players back this week and they'll be even stronger. We prepare for their best.
"We know what Geelong can do, we know they're a really good team but we're also confident in what we can do."
Geelong lose star forward Jeremy Cameron (concussion) but welcome back captain Patrick Dangerfield and improving defender Esava Ratugolea.
Dangerfield's inclusion is particularly important with the Swans to be without speedy midfielder Chad Warner.
Lance Franklin, who memorably brought up his 1000th goal the last time the Swans played Geelong at the SCG, will miss at least another week.
