Wyndham Clark birdied three of his last six holes to take a two-shot lead after the first round of the Arnold Palmer Invitational in Florida, with Cam Davis the best of the Australians in a tie for sixth.
Runner-up at Bay Hill last year, 2023 US Open champion Clark best handled the tricky conditions at the Orlando course, with the wind playing havoc.
With a prize purse of $A31 million, Clark's five-under-par 67 was one of just 14 rounds under par out of the 72-man field in the signature event.
