Health concerns have been raised over the presence of potentially toxic algae in the River Thames’ first official bathing spot, just three months after the site earned the title.
Swimmers have been warned to stay out of the new designated bathing water site in the Thames at Ham and Kingston, with the Environment Agency (EA) issued a formal notice after finding a bloom of potentially toxic blue-green algae around the area.
