On a firmness scale of 1 to 10, I'd say the firmer side feels like a 7: supportive, but not solid. The plush side feels more like a 6, with plenty of give to cushion your joints, but not so much give that you start to sink into the mattress. I switched between the two sides of the bed throughout the testing process and managed to sleep comfortably every night.
