Northwestern Memorial Hospital no longer on lockdown after SWAT respond to phone threat

Northwestern Memorial Hospital was no longer on lockdown after a phone threat prompted SWAT response Sunday night on the Near North Side, according to Chicago police.

Officers responded to the incident at 251 E. Huron St. about 8:40 p.m. after a phone threat was made to the hospital, police said.

The hospital then went into lockdown as part of security and safety protocols, police said.

A systematic search revealed no threat to public safety and all personnel were accounted for, officials said.

An officer at the scene confirmed the hospital was cleared about 10:20 p.m.

No further details were immediately available.
