A car was found to have been driving on a tyre completely 'devoid of tread' during a late night stop by police. The incident happened in Swansea overnight.
The motorist was later issued with a £100 fine and slapped with three points by South Wales Police. A picture of the stop was released by the force as part of a warning to other drivers.
In a statement issued online during the early hours, South Wales Police roads policing unit said: "#team1rpuwest had cause to stop this vehicle in Swansea tonight. Checks revealed front offside tyre devoid of any tread driver issued with a fixed penalty notice for £100 + 3 points!"
The force finished off the message with a warning - saying 'your tyres, your responsibility'. But that wasn't the only incident patrols had to deal with in the Swansea area overnight. Earlier in the shift, officers spotted another vehicle being driven "carelessly" in Mumbles.
Recounting the incident, South Wales Police roads policing unit said: "Sighted this vehicle being driven carelessly in Mumbles, Swansea. Driver later issued with a Section 59. Warning - drive safe, be considerate or get a ticket!"
