Swansea City transfer news as youngster pens new deal and Olivier Ntcham sends message to Jack Army

Here's your round-up of all the latest Swansea City news for Wednesday, May 10.

Jenkins signs new deal

Swansea City under-21s defender Kian Jenkins has signed a new contract that will keep him at the club until June 2024.

Jenkins, who's capable of playing on either flank, returned to action back in October 2022 following a spell on the sidelines with injury, and has impressed with his recent form.

Commenting on the 18-year-old Wales youth international's progress, coach Anthony Wright said: "I'm immensely proud of Kian, and it's testament to his attitude. His application is something that anyone in our dressing room could follow.

"He applies himself so well, does everything right and even during times of real adversity over the last couple of years he has worked diligently.

"He's never been down on himself and he's kept himself going. We've got him back on the grass over the last six months, and that's only going to be good for next season.

"But what he's shown in that time has led to this moment. He's come through the pathway system and has been at this club since he was really young.

"We're all delighted for Kian, he's been through so much, so it's only upwards from here for him."

Ntcham pays tribute to fans

Olivier Ntcham has praised Swansea City fans for their loyalty over the last season, and says the Swans are already targeting a top six finish next season.

“I’m really proud for myself and the team,” he said after the win over West Bromwich Albion on Monday.

“I think it was a long, tough season for everyone. We had good moments and bad moments. For me, I ended the season on eight goals, which I’m proud of, but I think I can do better.

“It was a pleasure to play in front of the fans this season. They supported us, even in the difficult times, and we were all in it together and that is the best for the team and manager.

“I think it’s really positive because we know each other now and we got very close to the play-offs. I think next season that can be our target.”
