Parrott unsure on future
Tottenham star Troy Parrott says he will try to impress boss Antonio Conte over the course of pre-season, admitting he is unsure what his future holds at present.
Parrott has emerged as a target for Swansea this summer after a successful loan stint with MK Dons last season. Russell Martin continued his recruitment planning with the signing of Harry Darling from his former club on Saturday, ticking off a much-needed addition in a problem area for Swansea last season.

An attacker will also be on the head coach's list, with Parrott stating he will knuckle down and see what happens.
“I can’t control what goes on there,” he said. “That’s out of my hands. All I can do is try to impress whoever is there and that’s what I fully intend doing when I go back there for pre-season.
“I’m not sure what’s going on about the future. I’ve just kept trying to play well for Ireland and I got a few messages from people saying ‘well done’. It’s always nice to get a goal in a big game like Scotland, especially at the Aviva. It was my first competitive one too. The most important thing is getting into the right areas to score goals.
“That’s better than standing on the edge of the box waiting for things to fall. It’s about getting in there to see what happens.”
Parrott also spoke about his relationship with Swansea's Michael Obafemi with the national team. The pair linked up well in the 3-0 hammering of Scotland earlier this month, and their understanding could bode well should a deal for the Spurs man become a reality.
“It was our first time playing on the same pitch," he added. “In the U21 game against Italy back in 2019, Michael came on after I got sent off. Last week was like we’d played together so many times. For him to see the run that I made and the execution of the pass was lovely.
“I didn’t have to do much to assist him. I just laid the ball off for him and he did the rest. We felt happy on the pitch and we’re looking for each other all the time, in and out of possession. As a front two, we pressed really well.
“I didn’t know much about him growing up because he’s a little bit older than me. I saw him when he was at Southampton. Michael is a quality player and to click with him was unexpected in a way because we’d never played together.”
Darling reveals ambitions
New signing Harry Darling says he can't wait to meet his new team-mates at their training camp in Pennyhill Park next week, adding that his aim is to get Swansea as high up in the table as possible.
Darling's signing is a huge piece of the jigsaw for Martin, who has signed the 22-year-old twice already. A ball-playing centre-back was high up on the priority list this summer, with the defender likely to be a mainstay in a new-look backline next season.
“Pennyhill will be the perfect start really,” he said. “We’re going to be away for a week, so that’ll be a good opportunity to settle in and meet everyone. I’m sure Fish [Andy Fisher] will help with that.
“I wanted to get the deal done early so that I could have a full pre-season with the team. I can gel with the team and set us up nicely for the start of the season. Personally, for me, I just want to do as well as I can, get as many appearances as I can, help the team in any way I can, win games and get us up the table."
Terriers join Sorinola race
Swansea City's Championship rivals Huddersfield Town are reportedly interested in signing Swans target Matthew Sorinola.
Norwich City are also understood to be in the race for the 21-year-old, who currently plays his football in Belgium with Union Saint-Gilloise. Celtic have also been credited with an interest in the exciting wing-back.
However, Football League World have now reported that the Terriers, fresh from their play-off final defeat to Nottingham Forest, are interested in Sorinola as they look to build a squad capable of going one further next term.
But sources in Belgium have indicated Sorinola could yet stay in the Jupiler Pro League next season. Union boss Felice Mazzù is reportedly poised to take the reins at league rivals Anderlecht, with Vincent Kompany having moved to the UK to take over Burnley, and there is already a suggestion he may well be tempted to take Sorinola with him.
