Cowley's Harness admission amid Swans interest
Danny Cowley admits Portsmouth need to be "open minded" when it comes to the transfer status of Marcus Harness.
Swansea have explored the option of signing the 26-year-old - who is also thought to have attracted interest from fellow Championship outfit Blackburn Rovers. However, having just signed Harry Darling on a permanent transfer from MK Dons, the Swans now need to raise further funds - either through player sales or by trimming the wage bill - to finance additional signings.
Pompey recently triggered the one-year extension option in Harness' deal. It means he is only contracted to the League One outfit until the summer of 2023, and boss Cowley concedes that his side will need to sell some of their top stars, most likely Harness and Ronan Curtis, this summer to help bolster other areas of their squad.
"Both players [Harness and Curtis] have a year left on their contract and the club will be very open minded," he told BBC Radio Solent Sport. "We probably need to bring money in to spend money."

Royals exploring Bennett deal
Reading are understood to be exploring the option of signing Ryan Bennett.
The defender is not with Swansea at their pre-season training camp at Pennyhill Park this week and was been told several months ago that he can leave the club this summer. However, Paul Ince's side are currently under a transfer embargo and are only able to sign free agents or loan players.
Bennett has one year left to run on his contract with Russell Martin's side. The 32-year-old - who joined from Wolves in 2020 - has made 49 appearances for Swansea. You can read the full transfer update on Bennett here.
Ex-Swans on the move
Kasey Palmer is poised to join Coventry City from Bristol City.
The attacker spent the opening half of the 2020/21 season on loan at Swansea and scored once in 12 appearances under Steve Cooper. However, he is now close to securing a permanent move away from Ashton Gate having undergone a medical with Coventry.
Meanwhile, Freddie Woodman is closing in on a move to Preston North End, according to The Athletic. The goalkeeper spent two seasons on loan at Swansea from Newcastle United and played a starring role as the Swans twice reached the play-offs.
The 25-year-old's contract with the Magpies expires next year, and having fallen down the pecking order at St James Park, he is now expected to secure a permanent exit from the north east of England.
