Wolf suffers injury blow
Former Swansea loanee Hannes Wolf won't play again for the rest of the year after suffering a shoulder injury playing for Borussia Mönchengladbach at the weekend.
The Austrian had only been on the field for a few minutes when he sustained a labial tear in his shoulder joint in Gladbach’s 3-0 win over former club RB Leipzig.
It is likely now that Wolf will require surgery, further hampering his attempts to break into Gladbach's first team for the season ahead.
Wolf headed to south Wales last season to get game-time under his belt and although new boss Daniel Farke insisted he wanted to keep the winger at the club this season, he has had to accept appearances off the bench.
Ogbene's transfer window admission
Rotherham United's Chiedozie Ogbene says there were no offers for him this summer but added he's keen to push on with his career.
The Republic of Ireland international was heavily linked with Swansea during the latest transfer window, with head coach Russell Martin a firm admirer of him.
He started this season with a bang and speculation is likely to return in January.
“I didn’t come close at all to leaving last month,” he explained.
“The manager sat me down and said he wanted to keep me. I was happy to be getting the opportunity to play football every week.
“If something came in that I, my family and the club were happy with, we'd have to consider it but nothing came.
“Rotherham haven't really come to me about a new deal. I have told them I want to push for the next step and they know my desire is to push on.”
Cabango lauds Martin
Ben Cabango says the work he's done with Russell Martin has improved him as a player.
The centre-back is back in the Wales fold after a summer of injury frustration saw him miss the crucial games which saw Rob Page's men qualify for the World Cup.
Now fit, firing and in some serious form, the defender says he wants to make up for lost time after developing his game under Martin up at Fairwood.
“I was delighted to get called up,” he said. “We’ve got two big games now against Belgium and Poland so hopefully I can get some minutes there.
“I’m looking forward to it and with the World Cup around the corner, I’m just working hard. Obviously I was injured in the summer so I was gutted to miss those important games.
“I’m back now and I just want to play. I’m working hard every day improving under the gaffer. He’s helping me so much and it’s showing on the pitch, in possession and out of possession.
"I’m improving in every way and hopefully I get some time at the Wales camp to show what I’m about.”
