Swansea City are set to bring in Manchester City youngster Finley Burns on loan.
Eighteen-year-old Burns is a centre-back and will become Russell Martin's fourth signing of the winter transfer window, following the arrivals of Andy Fisher, Hannes Wolf and Cyrus Christie.
Martin saw Liverpool starlet Rhys Williams return to Anfield earlier this month with his loan stint in south Wales cut short.
Burns now comes in to fill that void, and in turn could hasten Brandon Cooper's departure from the Swansea.com Stadium on loan.
England Under-18 international Burns has made one senior appearance for Pep Guardiola's side in the EFL Cup against Wycombe Wanderers last September.
The news comes with Swansea expected to miss out on the signings of fellow City pair James McAtee and Josh Wilson-Esbrand.
Both are set to remain at the Etihad under Guardiola's tutelage, but Swansea are said to be at the front of the queue should the situation change.
Swansea have two key areas in which they are now determined to bolster before Monday's 11pm transfer deadline.
They are in desperate need of a left wing-back while they also hope to bring in a striker, having allowed Liam Cullen and Morgan Whittaker to join Lincoln City on loan this month.
