Swansea City return to their Fairwood training base today to ramp up their preparations for the 2022/23 campaign.
The Swans spent last week at the plush Pennyhill Park facility in Bagshot and, after being given the weekend off, will resume pre-season at their own training complex. Top stars including Joel Piroe and Flynn Downes will all be in attendance in Swansea, with latter subject to fresh transfer interest from three Premier League clubs.
And Russell Martin will welcome back a number of other stars to training for the first time since his debut season at the club came to an end in May.
Republic of Ireland duo Ryan Manning and Michael Obafemi will link up with their club team-mates today, as does Olivier Ntcham who was recently away with Cameroon. Ben Cabango missed last week's trip to Surrey having been granted additional time off, but he is now set to resume light training as he steps up his recovery from ankle surgery.
Dan Williams - who had his loan with Dundalk cut short due to a knee injury - joined the Pennyhill Park camp on Wednesday last week and is set to train with the Swans this summer as head coach Martin ponders whether or not the Welshman will feature in his plans next term.
Summer signings Harry Darling, Nathan Wood and Wasiri Williams were all with their new team-mates in Surrey and train fully at Fairwood for the first time today. They will of course be joined by fellow new recruit Matty Sorinola who secured a season-long loan move from Belgian outfit Union SG to Swansea on Friday.
However, it's understood Ryan Bennett will not be training with the first team. The defender has been told he can leave Swansea this summer, with Reading thought to have shown an interest in the 32-year-old.
Meanwhile, Tivonge Rushesha is continuing to recover from an ACL injury that is likely to keep him out until the end of 2022. Swansea are scheduled to face Plymouth Argyle (July 12) and Charlton Athletic (July 23). They are also expected to play fixtures behind closed doors in preparation for their Championship opener at Rotherham United on July 30.
