Swansea City have been dealt a major blow in their hunt for Russell Martin's successor with news that frontrunner Chris Davies is set to join Tottenham's coaching staff.
Davies, who coached Swansea during Brendan Rodgers' era in south Wales, is, according to the Telegraph, to be included in new Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou's backroom team.
Something of a tug-of-war has played out over 38-year-old Davies, with Swansea eyeing him as one their leading contenders to replace Southampton-bound Martin, with Postecoglou also wanting him in north London, while Rodgers has brought him along for the ride at Liverpool, Celtic and latterly Leicester City.
