Sydney coach John Longmire won't bother asking questions of AFL officials about a lop-sided free-kick count in the narrow loss to the Western Bulldogs.
There were shades of the 2016 grand final as Swans supporters were left aggrieved at the sheer number of decisions that went against them at Marvel Stadium on Thursday night.
The end count favoured the home team 31-14.
However, the Bulldogs were clearly the better side in their 9.17 (71) to 9.6 (60) victory.
"I'd have to go back and have a look, but what can I say?" Longmire shrugged when asked about the umpires' performance.
The 2012 premiership coach laughed off questions about whether he will seek any clarification from the league around any of the decisions.
Regardless of the free kick count, Longmire admitted his side was "off the pace" against a hungry Bulldogs outfit and would have been lucky to steal the win.
The Swans got within five points with a minute remaining when Errol Gulden was gifted a goal from a 50-metre penalty.
"I'm not going to sit here and say that if we had have pinched it, it would've been deserved," Longmire said.
"It would've been great to pinch it and we got within a kick.
"To be able to get in that space even though we weren't playing well ... but it was a bit of the Doggies missing some shots."
Sydney's night was further soured by a knee injury to Tom Hickey, who had to be substituted out of the game.
Opposite number Tim English starred as the Swans' ruckman limped off during the third quarter.
"I'm sitting here at the moment and it's a suspected medial," Longmire said.
"That's all I've got. I don't know any more than that. I'll have to wait and see."
