Real Housewives of Beverly Hill star Sutton Stracke has teased that the upcoming season will see the group “tighter” than ever.
In a newly released trailer for season 14, fans saw intense moments with relationships on the line. Stracke is seen declaring, “I’m not going to bow down at the altar of Kyle Richards,” while Garcelle drops a bombshell involving Paul ‘PK’ Kemsley.
The trailer also hints at high tensions: Richards and Dorit Kemsley clash like never before amid their respective martial woes, Erika Jayne calls Stracke “volatile,” and new cast member Saint John is described as “the real deal.”
Despite drama reaching fever pitch, Stracke told The Standard ahead of the inaugural HayuFanFest: “It's an interesting season, because there's only six housewives, so that makes us tighter.
“... There's a lot of tension, of course, a lot of drama. We have some great trips.
“So it's, I think, such a well rounded season. It's not all tension and ugly and angry,” she shared.
“This is there's all of that too, but there's fun and I think a lot of camaraderie, which is what I love the most.”
This season introduces Bozoma Saint John, former Netflix Chief Marketing Officer, as a full-time diamond holder, with Stracke calling her a “great addition.” Fans can also look forward to Stracke’s close friend, Oscar nominee Jennifer Tilly, joining as a “friend of” the housewives, alongside the return of Kathy Hilton.
“One of my best friends comes on, Jennifer Tilly, and she's a friend of but she's so much more than a friend of, she's quite a force in and of herself, and she's really funny, and it's fun for me to get to watch her meet all of the women and find her way through,” she added.
“And of course, Kathy Hilton is back. So between the two of them, it's just funny.”
In April, Crystal Kung Minkoff announced that she would be leaving the franchise after three seasons while Annemarie Wiley, 40, shared in an Instagram statement in March that she was “disappointed” not to be asked back after one installment.
When asked if she has spoken to either of her former castmates, Stracke replied: “Crystal and I are great friends, the other one is very busy investigating people's medical conditions”.
Surprisingly, Stracke revealed a newfound connection with Erika Jayne. Despite their rocky past—including Jayne’s infamous comment in which she referred to Stracke as “the worst lay ever”—Stracke shared: “I have become friends with Erica so there you go.
“We still have tension, but we kind of like our tension.
“We're weird like that, you know, we're sort of like a married couple in that way. You know, we like to get angry with one another. I don't know why, but then we like to make up.”
Aside from the upcoming series, the businesswoman reflected on the impact she’s had on pop culture with several memable moments, including her infamous “name ‘em” last season and her hysterical “Jealous of What? Your Ugly Leather Pants?” comment in season 11.
“You know the ‘name’ em’, it has blown my mind when Julia Roberts is doing it on television, it it's rather shaking, but so cool,” the reality TV star shared.
“And I didn't mean to say it, and then I didn't mean to say it like, I don't know, 17 times. It just, it's wild. What comes out of my mouth? Because I think when you are the most authentic that you can be, I think that's what really is the draw.”
And aside from Julia Roberts, Stracke has a very famous fan in Irish actress Nicola Coughlan, who she recalled meeting outside SNL and said she “adores”.
“There was a line outside the tower to go into Saturday Night Live and sometimes I get these wild streaks in me and I said, 'let's go and see what this whole line is about' and I just wanted to see who was going to come out,” she said.
“And there [Nicola Coughlan] was, she screamed my name and came over and we got a chatting.
“I have loved her since Derry Girls and then, of course, Bridgerton, so I'm a big fan.
“We were both at the Gucci show in September, and I was like, 'How did I miss you?' Because I'm such a stalker, obviously, but we just missed each other. I adore her, and she's a great actress.”
