Suspected rapist named after incident in Bootle

Police have named a suspect after a report of rape in Bootle.

The alleged attack happened on Sunday, March 5 this year on Linacre Lane. Hussain Saidi has now been charged with rape.

The 24-year-old, of Louis Pasteur Avenue, Netherton has been taken into custody and will next appear at Liverpool Crown Court on Thursday, July 6. A spokesperson for Merseyside police said: "We can confirm that a man from Netherton has been charged with rape.

"Hussain Saidi, 24, of Louis Pasteur Avenue, Netherton, appeared yesterday (Thursday 8 June) at Liverpool Magistrates' Court and has been remanded in custody.

"The rape was reported to have occurred on Sunday, March 5 this year on Linacre Lane. Saidi will next appear at Liverpool Crown Court on Thursday 6 July."
