Three teenagers were robbed at knife-point but managed to grab the weapon from the suspect's hands.
Police confirmed that they were called to reports of an armed robbery on West Street, in Southport, on Monday, May 2 at around 10.30pm. Two men, aged 18 and 19, and a woman. aged 17, were walking down the road when they were approached by two men.
One of the men had a Stanley knife and threatened the victims. The suspects then demanded a mobile phone before taking a coat and bank card belonging to one of the victims.

However one victim managed to grab the knife from one of the suspects forcing the thugs to run from the scene on foot. Police confirmed that the knife was recovered and seized for forensic examination.
Officers have confirmed that they have charged a man in connection with the robbery. Lewis King, of Waterside, Netherton, was arrested and has since been charged with two counts of robbery, one of attempted robbery and one of possession of a bladed article in a public place.
The 18-year-old appeared in Liverpool Magistrates Court on Monday, May 9. A spokesperson for the force said: "A man has been charged in connection with a robbery in Southport last week when three people were targeted. At around 10.30pm on Monday 2 May, it was reported two men, aged 18 and 19, and a 17-year-old female were approached by two male offenders on West Street, Southport.
"One of the offenders was holding a Stanley knife, and the pair demanded a mobile phone before taking a coat and bank card belonging to one of the victims. Officers attended and a blade was recovered for forensic examination.
"Following enquiries, Lewis King, 18 years, of Waterside, Netherton, was arrested and has since been charged with two counts of robbery, one of attempted robbery and one of possession of a bladed article in a public place. He was remanded in custody to appear at Liverpool Magistrates Court on Monday 9 May."
