A suspected firearm and ammunition has been seized by gardai after a search of a house on Christmas Eve.
Shortly after 5pm on Saturday, December 24, gardai from Kevin Street carried out a search under warrant of a residence in the Basin Street area of Dublin, as part of ongoing investigations into criminal activity in the vicinity.
Gardai said that during the course of this search, a suspected firearm, magazine and two rounds of ammunition were discovered concealed in the property and seized.
The suspected firearm will be sent to the Garda Ballistics Unit for analysis.
Gardai added in a statement: "No arrests have been made at this time. Investigations are ongoing."
