A suspect fled the scene after officers were called to a report of an assault at Kirkby Station on Wednesday morning.
Police attended around 9.15am after receiving reports that a man was assaulted by another man on the platform of the railway station. However, the suspect had fled the scene and could not be located by officers.
The victim suffered minor injuries but chose not to make a formal complaint to police.

The incident and police presence affected Merseyrail services. At 9.45am, the train operator tweeted: "Due to late running after police dealing with an incident the 09.28 Kirkby - Liverpool service will now terminate on arrival at Sandhills. The 09.50 Liverpool - Kirkby service will now start at Sandhills."
A Merseyside Police spokesperson told the ECHO : "At around 9.15am this morning, Wednesday 18 May, officers were called to a report of an assault at Kirkby Station.
"It was reported that a man was assaulted by another man on the platform. Patrols attended but the suspect had made off from the scene and could not be located.
"The victim suffered minor injuries and declined to make a formal complaint to police."
