A suspect has been named after a pub landlord was slashed with a suspected knife and others were attacked nearby.
The violent scenes unfolded at around 12.50pm on Wednesday on Altcross Road in Croxteth, when it was reported a man had assaulted a woman outside Croxteth Family Health Centre before punching another man nearby. A short time later, at around 1.20pm, Merseyside Police said it was further reported that a man had entered the Lobster Hotel pub on Moss Way, and made several threats to customers.
The landlord removed the suspect from the pub and was slashed in the process. Benjamin Edward Fitzsimmons, 44, of Altcross Road, Croxteth has been charged with Section 18 assault, Section 47 assault, carrying a bladed article in a public place, affray and a hate crime public order offence.

He has also been charged with Section 18 assault and carrying a bladed article in a public place from an incident on 30 May. He will appear at Wirral Magistrates' Court, tomorrow, Friday, June 23.
