A suspect has been named by Merseyside Police over a string of firearm offences.
Steven Shannon, 28, from Liverpool Road, in Huyton has been charged with possession of a prohibited weapon, possession of ammunition, conspiracy to convert imitation weapons into firearms and conspiracy to possess prohibited weapons for sale.
On Wednesday January, 5, 2022, officers searched an address on Wimbourne Road in Huyton and recovered a gun, ammunition and a number of suspected stolen off-road bikes. The firearm was made safe by officers and forensically recovered.

Shannon appeared at Wirral Remand Court today, Tuesday, May 23.
Detective Chief Inspector of Firearm Investigation Team, Paul McVeigh said: “Merseyside Police pro-actively investigates serious organised crime including the use of guns and the supply and distribution of drugs on Merseyside and is relentless in its pursuit of offenders.
“We immediately respond to incidents involving guns and is actively working to make Merseyside a safer place to live and work. Communities need to take a stand and help us to make the streets safer and any information from the public, no matter how small, is vital if we are to breakdown the organised crime groups who bring misery to our streets.”
