Suspect held in Sam Rimmer murder investigation released on bail

One suspect held over the murder of Sam Rimmer has been released on bail.

At 11.40pm on August 16, 2022, Sam was on Lavrock Bank, Dingle with a group of friends, when two electric bikes, drove into the cul-de-sac and fired a number of shots towards the group. As a result, the 22-year-old was injured and despite the best efforts of officers and ambulance staff he was pronounced dead a short while later at hospital.

A 23-year-old man from Liverpool was arrested on suspicion of murder in relation to the murder probe of Sam and was interviewed by detectives. Today, a spokesperson for Merseyside Police said he was released on bail pending further enquiries.
