Deputies in Florida successfully arrested a suspect in the attempted assassination of former President Trump, with the dramatic moment captured on officer-worn bodycam video released on Monday afternoon. The suspect, identified as Ryan Routh, 58, was apprehended on northbound Interstate 95 after deputies surrounded his vehicle, as detailed by Martin County Sheriff Will Snyder during a press briefing.
The released footage depicts the tense situation as deputies instructed Routh to walk slowly backwards with his hands on his head towards them after he surrendered. Routh is alleged to have been lying in wait for Trump at the Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida, armed with an SKS-style rifle.
