
Residents of Chiva, a village in eastern Spain, are still reeling from the devastating flash floods that struck the region earlier this week. The torrential rains claimed over 200 lives and caused widespread destruction of homes and livelihoods.
The village of Chiva, located about 30 kilometers from Valencia city, experienced a deluge of rain that surpassed anything seen in the past 20 months. The normally dry gorge, known as the 'Barranco de Chiva,' suddenly overflowed with rushing water, leading to a catastrophic chain of events.
