Mumbai: Taking a dig at the BJP-led NDA, Shiv Sena (UBT) Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut on Saturday said it was 'surprising' that Maharashtra yet to know about their Chief Minister even eight days have passed since the results were announced.

The senior party leader also alleged that the verdict was against the wishes of people which has caused delay in the selection of Chief Minister.
Raut talks to reporters
"Eight days have passed since the outcome of the assembly poll was announced, but Maharashtra has not been able to get a CM. The caretaker CM (Eknath Shinde) has gone to his village in Sitara. Why is this happening?," Mr Raut told reporters.

"The results are unnatural and against the wishes of people. There are agitations all over the state," Raut further said.
Mahayuti
An important meeting of the Mahayuti alliance, which was scheduled for Friday, was put off as caretaker CM Eknath Shinde went to his native village, delaying the government formation in the state.

Polls results
In the 281-member state assembly, the Mahayuti alliance won 230 out of 288 seats while Maha Vikas Aghadi could win 46 seats. (With Agency Inputs)
