John Bostock made a surprise return to action for Nottingham Forest this weekend in a friendly against Italian side Palermo.
The midfielder is currently without a club after leaving Doncaster Rovers in the summer. Bostock is searching for the 15th club of his career and has been keeping himself ticking over with an appearance for the Reds' under-21s.
Forest's young stars faced Serie B side Palermo at Manchester City's training ground with former Roma striker Soleri Edoardo scoring the winner in the 79th minute.

Bostock made nine appearances during his loan spell with Forest in the 2019/20 season and returned to England in 2021. He made 39 appearances for Doncaster last season when they were relegated from League One.
In the defeat to Palermo, who joined City Football Group in the summer, new Reds signing Adnan Kanuric played the full 90 minutes after arriving from Sarajevo recently.
It remains unclear how long Bostock will continue to train and play with the under-21s, with the former Tottenham Hotspur man on the look-out for his next destination.
