Arsenal are possibly enjoying their best period under Stan Kroenke's ownership after elevating themselves back as one of England's elite.
The Gunners recorded six consecutive finishes outside the Premier League top four in a troubling period that saw Arsene Wenger end his reign in north London and Unai Emery's project fall flat on its face within the space of 18 months.
Mikel Arteta's appointment has returned the club back to the top of English football, with the 2022/23 season marking one of improvement with a return to the Champions League. A big factor in Arsenal's revival has come from Stan Kroenke's mass investment in the playing squad.
This summer alone, the Gunners' spending will surpass the £200million ($258million) mark with their transfer record set to be smashed with the signing of Declan Rice for £105million ($135.4milllion) - £1million less than the British record.
Kroenke's recent movement in bettering his franchise in English football has transformed the general population's consensus on the American businessman. However, it could have been so different.
American entrepreneur Ted Turner, who founded the first 24-hour cable news channel Cable News Network (CNN) and American TV channel TBS, was once offered the chance to buy Arsenal in a deal that could have completely moulded the way club football was viewed in the United States.

Turner also owned a number of franchises in American sport - NBA side Atlanta Hawks, MLB side Atlanta Braves and NHL Atlanta Thrashers - and bought World Championship Wrestling.
It has recently been revealed that Turner was once delivered a pitch to buy Arsenal, but a move never gathered pace. Former group controller of TBS, Dick Cheatham, has revealed in an interview with Ad Free Shows podcast how former Turner Sports president Harvey Schiller attempted to convince Turner to buy the Gunners.
"[Schiller] wanted to be [George] Steinbrenner," he said. "He thought he could [take] over sports, and we started doing goofy **** then too... He wanted to buy a soccer team, and it was Arsenal. He wanted to buy that.
"[Schiller] had worked out a deal where he was going to end, he made the pitch to Ted where they were going to buy Arsenal using TBS stock.
"There was a guy over there who was Harvey's number guy, Alan, but he convinced Harvey that this was a terrible mistake... TBS stock wasn't liquid and it had better value in another deal."
At the time, football was big in the United States following the success of the 1994 World Cup. MLS did not start until 1996 and finding ways to watch European football on TV was difficult for many.
If Turner had gone ahead with a deal to buy Arsenal, Premier League football could have been one of the biggest leagues in the USA, with the Gunners possibly the most popular club in the country. However, it wasn't meant to be.
