NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Friday reserved verdict on a petition seeking harsher punishment to Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu, who was let off with a meagre fine of Rs 1,000 in a road rage case 33 years ago, in which the victim died in hospital.
A bench of Justices A M Khanwilkar and Sanjay K Kaul heard arguments from senior advocate Sidharth Luthra on behalf of review petitioner and senior advocates A M Singhvi and R Basant, who appeared for Sidhu. It asked the counsel to give written submissions within a week before reserving its decision on the review petition.
