There are currently five businesses that have successfully completed The Food Academy and will have their products on sale for three weeks in SuperValus across the country from March 2 until March 22.

Speaking about these businesses, Carmel said: "SuperValu are incredibly proud to support growing Irish food and drink producers, it is an important part of our company ethos, and we are delighted that the five producers’ products will now be available to purchase for a limited time period. Each of the producers have such inspiring stories and Supervalu is thrilled to be on this journey with them.”

The Food Academy was established in 2013 and provides over 1,500 jobs across Ireland. A recent survey carried out by SuperValu found that 77% of their shoppers want to buy local and sustainable products.
