Superdrug issues 'do not drink warning' as drink may contain metal

Superdrug has issued a recall for a smoothie meal replacement shake that may contain pieces of metal. The health and beauty retailer says some batches of its Slenderplan Tropical Smoothie Meal Replacement Shake may not be safe to drink as a result.

The recall notices are for the 208g packs containing 8 sachets, with a best before date of May 31, 2023. The batch codes are 1050400 20 and 1050400 23. A notice from the Food Standards Agency reads: "Superdrug is recalling Slenderplan Tropical Smoothie Meal Replacement Shake because it may contain small pieces of metal, making it unsafe to drink."

It adds: "If you have bought the above product do not drink it. Instead, return it to the store from whereit was bought for a full refund, no receipt is required."
