The 2022/23 Premier League season will be particularly interesting, especially for Leeds United supporters. They will be watching their team – almost unrecognisable from last term – with a full pre-season under Jesse Marsch.
Fans of both Leeds and their rivals are expecting the campaign to go one of two ways. The close shave with relegation a couple of months ago has led to a wave of pessimism that too many changes have been made in such a short period of time. But, others who have seen Marsch operate at his former clubs, are expecting a strong response to last season.
How the Whites are able to react to the departures of Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha on the pitch will form one of the league’s intriguing sub plots. Equally, so will the performances of the likes of Tyler Adams, Marc Roca and Luis Sinisterra.

The majority of neutral fans might be expecting to see Leeds battling at the wrong end of the table without seeing those players, and the other new recruits, ply their trade in the English top-flight. Those fears are the same being felt by FiveThirtyEight, the sports forecasting website have predicted that Leeds will be struggling once again.
In their prediction for the 22/23 Premier League table, they expect the Whites to finish 16th, just one place higher than last season. The expectation is that the three newly-promoted sides from the Championship will occupy the relegation places with Southampton finishing 17th.
