Supercomputer calculates where Everton will finish in the Premier League this season

Evertonians are fretting about their own team’s form while looking over their shoulders, anxiously checking relegation rivals’ results but a supercomputer has calculated where the Blues will finish in the Premier League this season.

A 5-0 thrashing at Tottenham Hotspur on Monday leaves Everton just a point clear of the relegation zone after just two wins from their last 19 Premier League matches.

The Blues points tally of 22 from 25 games is their lowest ever at this stage of a Premier League season but Frank Lampard’s team, whose relegation odds are currently 3/1, are still predicted to survive.

This forecast comes via bettingexpert.com ’s so-called ‘supercomputer’, an algorithm that has analysed informative betting markets including title winner, top four, top half finish and relegation.

The supercomputer’s working out has Everton – who go to Arsenal on the last day – finishing 16th in the final table and ultimately avoiding the dreaded drop.

It’s been 71 years since the Blues were relegated but the supercomputer reckons the three teams who are going down are Norwich City, (1/33 odds for relegation) in 20th ; Watford (1/6) in 19th and Burnley (11/10) in 18th while Leeds United (7/4) are calculated to finish 17 th in between Everton and those who end up cut adrift.

Just above the Blues, Brentford (7/2) are predicted to come 15th with a revived Newcastle United (16/1) tipped to be 14th .

At the other end of the table, Manchester City are the projected champions with Liverpool second, Chelsea third and the last Champions League spot going to Arsenal in fourth.
