Pop star Rihanna has staged a Super Bowl half-time show while pregnant, rubbing her stomach within minutes of launching into her performance.
The internet went into a feverish spin trying to confirm she was expecting before a representative for the singer provided the confirmation.
This is the 34-year-old's second pregnancy. She has a nine-month-old son with rapper A$AP Rocky.
It explains why Rihanna's first public performance since the 2018 Grammys didn't contain any acrobatics or wild moves on stage — just Wild Thoughts.
She only had 13 minutes to perform the Super Bowl show, but managed to squeeze in about a dozen songs, beginning her highly anticipated performance with her 2015 single B**** Better Have My Money, while positioned on a floating platform.
She was dressed in a red jumpsuit for the headlining show, surrounded by dancers dressed in white.
On Rihanna's set list were the songs Where Have You Been, We Found Love, Rude Boy, Work, Wild Thoughts, Pour It Up, All of The Lights, Run This Town, Umbrella, Only Girl (In The World) and Diamonds.
Roughly half of these songs are collaborations with artists such as Kanye West and DJ Calvin Harris.
Despite Jay-Z featuring on a couple of the tracks and being present at the Super Bowl (he was seen arriving with his daughter Blue), he did not join her on stage.
In 2019, Rihanna confirmed to Vogue that she had previously turned down an offer to perform the Super Bowl half-time show in solidarity with Colin Kaepernick, who was the most high profile player to kneel in protest during the national anthem at NFL matches.
