Super Bowl half time show 2024: The artists that could join Usher on stage

R&B icon Usher has been revealed as the artist who will grace the halftime show stage for Super Bowl 2024.

Taking place in Las Vegas’s Allegiant Stadium on February 11 next year, this will be the first time the Grammy-winner has performed at the iconic sporting event.

The big news was revealed with a series of delightful videos that saw Usher being given the good news over the phone by some famous faces, ranging from Kim Kardashian to Odell Beckham Jr. and Deion Sanders.

Speaking about playing the show, Usher said: “It’s an honour of a lifetime to finally check a Super Bowl performance off my bucket list.

“I can’t wait to bring the world a show unlike anything else they’ve seen from me before.”

The Super Bowl Halftime show is an iconic performance opportunity that most musicians use to go through their hits over the years, welcome some surprise guests on stage, and give the audience an unforgettable show.

For instance, in 2013, Beyonce surprised everyone by bringing her Destiny’s Child members Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams on stage. And, in 2016, Colplay brought Bruno Mars and Beyonce on stage, wowing the crowds.

So, based on who Usher has collaborated with throughout his music career thus far, here are some of the names many are anticipating as potential guests that join him on the halftime stage.

Chris Brown

Usher and Chris Brown are two of the biggest names in R&B and, together, they have released many hits over the decades.

From Party and New Flame to One Love and If I Ain’t Got You, the songs the two musicians could sing together on the halftime stage are plenty.

However, allegedly the two artists got into a heated argument before things led to a violent scuffle earlier this year, just moments after Usher sang Brown Happy Birthday to mark his 34th.

None of the stars involved have commented on the reports since but if they are true, a collaboration would be less likely.

Alicia Keys

Usher and Keys have been friends since they were about 15, so the two have known each other throughout their music careers.

And in 2004, the artists collaborated on the song My Boo, a duet that conquered the hearts of their fans.

While the two haven’t worked on any other songs together since, given both of their rich R&B repertoires, they would sure be able to find ways to merge their most popular songs together if they wanted to.

Summer Walker

Recent years have seen a number of collaborations between Usher and Summer Walker.

In 2020, the two released Come Thru, and just a month ago, fans were elated to get their hands on the music video for Good Good.

Given the recency of their collaborations, it wouldn’t be a huge surprise if Summer Walker joined Usher on stage during his Super Bowl halftime show.

Beyonce

Beyonce famously collaborated with Usher on Love in This Club, Pt. II and Bad Girl.

Plus, she is a Super Bowl veteran at this point, having graced the stage multiple times over the years, both as the headliner and a guest. This might mean she has developed a soft spot for performing at the event.
